Professor Emeritus, Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture, College of Letters & Sciences, University of Wisconsin - Madison and Editor-in-Chief, Landscape Journal, the flagship academic journal of the Council for Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA).

Jim is a licensed landscape architect and earned his MLA and PhD in natural resources policy and planning at Cornell University.

Mary Pat McGuire, ASLA, PLA 

Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture and Dean’s Fellow for Research, College of Fine & Applied Arts, The University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign.

Mary Pat is a licensed landscape architect and earned her MLA from the University of Virginia. She founded Depave Chicago and has practiced landscape architecture at PWP Landscape Architecture in the San Francisco Bay area and Conservation Design Forum in Chicago.

Ashley Steffens, ASLA, FCELA

Vice President, Education, American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and Crowley Professor in Urban Planning and Design and Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Student Affairs, College of Environment + Design, University of Georgia

Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina and Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. For seven years, she held multiple elected offices with CELA: Managing editor for Landscape Journal; Secretary; Vice President of Communications, Outreach, and Publications; and President (2018-2021).

Dr. Bo Yang, FASLA, PLA, PhD, AICP 

Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning, School of Landscape Architecture and Planning, The University of Arizona.

Bo holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Sciences and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Texas A&M University and a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. Bo has practiced landscape architecture at multidisciplinary firms in China and the U.S., including SWA Group and HNTB.
