Acting Secretary of the Interior Scott de la Vega issued Secretarial Order 3396 on the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), rescinding a possibly illegal order from the previous administration and fulfilling one of the recommendations included in ASLA's Policy Recommendations Report
From the LA Times: "...a group of transit organizations, along with the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), recommends that the DOT launch a new division: an Active Transportation Administration that would, in the words of ASLA’s policy recommendations, 'provide vision, focus, and priority for active transportation programs...'”
ASLA released a comprehensive set of policy recommendations for the new Biden-Harris administration titled “Landscape Architects Design Vibrant, Resilient, and Just Communities for All - Recommendations for the Biden-Harris Administration.”
The new law permanently and fully funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and provides funds to address the maintenance backlog in our national parks and other public lands.
